I started this blog this year to help myself take more advantages of the great camera gear that I own and the ability that I have to utilize it. So throughout the coming year I have made a goal for myself to post an image for everyday. All of the photographs will be my own and if I use my camera to it's fullest capacity I hope that they will be untouched and raw.
I'm rationalizing in my head right now why I haven't posted anything for the past five days and can't come up with a really good excuse as to why nothing has been done. The only one that holds any validity is my metal preparation for this new endeavor and the fact I want this blog to own and captivate a different audience as opposed to my animated mom blog. So, to a new year, a new blog and a fresh perspective from my lens to yours, cheers!
The Camera: Nikon D300
The Lens: 18-200mm
The Image: Gingerbread House
The Challenge: HDR image
I've had a brief introduction to HDR images and find them fascinating and transcending when compared to the typical point and shoot images. I decided to download a plug in to my Aperture program to try this new technology out and with the help of a friend we set up my camera in my kitchen (not ideal) but we were testing the waters. I took nine shots with the use of my tripod at different exposure levels and then the HDR program merges them all together.
It isn't a masterpiece by any standard. It was an experiment. The first of it's kind for me. I can't wait to try more the possibilities of this medium are endless!
